E. Wayne Powell - Candidate for 7th CD Nomination

"Americans need good jobs now. When you deny [them] the opportunity to do meaningful work and contribute to their community by providing services and, yes, by paying their fair share of taxes, you are attacking a key part of their individual identities."

Mr. Powell is president of the law firm Powell & Parrish, P.C. in Midlothian. He has spent the majority of his more than 28 years of practice as a trial lawyer. He also served for 30 years as a Reserve and Active Duty Army officer. He was awarded the Legion of Merit Medal when he retired as a Colonel from active duty in 2002 after mobilization following the attacks of 9/11.

Mr. Powell is a 1972 Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of Richmond, Virginia. He received his Master of Arts degree in 1973 from the University of Wisconsin's Madison campus with a specialization in Latin American studies. He received his J.D. degree from the T. C. Williams School of Law at the University of Richmond in 1980.

David Hunsicker - Candidate for 7th CD Nomination

"Jobs, jobs, jobs must be our first priority. Real jobs with real pay for working families solves so many of this nation's problems. This issue affects all Americans concerning health care availability, access to quality education, and our future as the leader of the free world."

Mr. Hunsicker attended Virginia Tech and graduated with a Business degree. He then entered the U.S. Air Force as a second lieutenant and became a navigator on a B-52. He subsequently earned his wings as a pilot and flew combat missions in Vietnam in the RF-4C tactical reconnaissance aircraft. He earned a master's degree in public administration while stationed at Hickam Air Force Base, Hawaii.

Mr. Hunsicker served as an aid to the Commander of the Pacific Air Forces and ended his tour of duty at the Pentagon working in Air Force Plans and the office of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. He retired after 20 years in 1982 as a lieutenant colonel. After the Air Force, he built a career in the real estate business as a broker, residential home builder and appraiser.

Tim Kaine has served people throughout his adult life as a missionary, fair housing attorney, teacher and elected official.

As Virginia's 70th Governor, and in the midst of America's deepest recession in 70 years, Tim led the state to national recognition. Virginia was honored as the Best Managed State in America (Governing Magazine), the Best State for Business (Forbes.com -- four years in a row) and the Best State to Raise a Child (Education Week). Virginia maintained its Triple A bond rating for fiscal management -- an honor shared by only 7 states -- and had one of the nation's lowest unemployment rates and highest median incomes.

Now Tim has answered the call again, this time to run for the United States Senate. He's running because America needs optimistic doers who know how to find common ground.
